Praying Hands

Prayer Strengthens Your Faith

We should speak with God during our high times and low times. Prayer keeps our relationship with God solid and increases our belief in His power.

Inviting God into our lives should be the norm, as we speak to Him through our spirit and words. Having regular conversations with Him tightens our bond. It reminds me that He always provides guidance once we reach out to Him.

“God delights in His children talking with Him, asking questions, and

even missing the mark in their prayers, if it means they are seeking

      His face in the process.”

Prayer leads me to place my trust in the heavenly Father instead of myself. It takes me to the point of consciousness where I know the source of my strength.

Any financial challenge that I face is manageable when I pray. Talking to God allows me to release myself from the burden. When I open my eyes, I feel instantly lighter. God passes with flying colors whenever I put Him to the test.

Sometimes I am unable to see the way in front of me. But when I see things unfold and appear before me, I praise God immediately for His blessings.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”

In the book of Psalms, we can find David praying when he was weary from his enemies' pursuit and needed God’s help. Abraham interceded for the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. When God seemingly to have abandon Job when his life was falling apart. Job prayed with his whole heart and God sustained him and blessed him with double. Hanna’s prayer of despair for her womb to be opened prayed fervently that the priest thought she was drunk.

We see each of these men and women responded to their trials and life crises with passionate and heart-rending prayer.  It was because of their love for the Father that they were able to pour their hearts out to Him, and He answered their prayer.

Each answered prayer reinforced their trust. I believe that anything that we take to Him is already resolved. When the outcome is different from our request, we will get a clearer understanding of His message and what He desires for us to learn from every situation.

Today, allow our prayers to God to reinforce our belief in His control over our lives. His guidance is unmistakable. I use my regular conversations with God to guide me through this journey as a pastor’s wife.

“Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘I tell you the truth. If anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:22-25
