GOD'S DESIRE FOR YOU
"So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord; who is the Spirit; makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image." 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NLT)
God can seem near to us when we walk in the woods or are surrounded by the grandeur of a starry night, and that is a wonderful experience. But it should not become a substitute for going to church.
Never forget; God does not want us just to feel His presence. He wants to change our lives. He wants to take away our self-centeredness and make us more like Christ. He also wants to teach us His truth and prepare us to become His servants.
How does this happen? How does God change us into the persons He wants us to be? Not just by a walk in the woods, as pleasant as that may be. No, God mainly changes us by His Word, the Bible, as we listen to its truth and allow it to shape our lives. That is one reason I urge you to become active in a church again, where God's Word is taught and lived. You will become more like Christ as you hear and obey His Word. Will it be easy to serve while wounded? Absolutely not, be it is God's desire for us to love and teach those that hurt us.
God got your back!
Prayer for Today!
Lord, we come to you not to be entertained but to be changed. So may every moment spent within the pages of your Word cause us to be more and more like You.
